#DIGC102 Wk 10 - Research interviews: Wookieepedia Questions @thbooth13 @lewisliveshere
Not cheating Lewis, it is spelt C-O-L-L-A-B-O-R-A-T-I-O-N. Anyway, I like your comments. So I have also reblogged them.
So I’m cheating by reblogging…what of it?
Anyway, whilst T-rav-4 has done some excellent work (but what did you expect?) in compiling and sequencing the rough questions Tim and I left him with, it became apparent that asking a moderator these questions would provide a vastly different response from a standard contributor.
As we learnt from the analysis of ICRwollongong asking questions through a text based forum offers certain advantages, but can inhibit follow-up questions.
Anyway, below are the questions we compiled. There is still some work to do, but hopefully our awareness of the limitations of both this style of questions and the anticipated interviewee’s perspective will help maximise what we can achieve.
These are proposed questions to ask of Admins on the Wookieepedia StarWars Wiki site.
Many of these questions relate to conflict, hierarchy and legitimacy as these seem to be the premise of the site itself. That is, only certain types of information are allowed on this site, but who legitimates/authorises that information? It has been suggested to also pose these or similar questions to users of the site instead of only admins. Such an approach would bring a different depth and perspective to the reponses, particularly those around power and legitimacy.
- What lead you to design Wookiepedia?
- Is there much conflict surronding articles?- Is there much conflict surronding authors/submitters/moderators?
- Are you targeted by hackers/trolls? Are these attacks related to the fact that the site is a StarWars wiki?
- What are your roles as an administrator of a Star Wars wiki?
- How is conflict regarding accuracy of information resolved?
- How does Wookiepedia differ from other Star Wars fan sites?
- Is there an established hierachy amongst the contributers and administrators?- How are the featured articles chosen?
- Can we suggest to you that you call trolls ‘Phantom Menaces’?
